bootsplash的问题

我用自己编译的内核打了补丁。然后用debian的方法装了bootsplash
可是开机启动没有图像。只有关机的时候才有。我查看了系统启动日志
找到这样两句
bootsplash: scanning last 2MB of initrd for signature
bootsplash 3.1.6-2004/03/31: looking for picture...<6>...no good signature found.
请问要什么signature为什么我关机又能看到图像呢?
