two problems about ubantu

i just installed ubantu,now i have two problems:
1: what's the default password for root,i can't change user to root using the "su" command.
2: how to install the language of chinese in an easy way,i select english when installed.must i re-install from cd-rom?

ubuntu默认不启用root账户，要用root权限时用sudo命令，如sudo apt-get update等
ubuntu应该有中文语言包，搜索locale的包看看
