debian下升级内核的问题

:ask 最近在一台电脑上安装debian，内核是2.4.17，然后编译内核想升级到2.6.15。结果在制作initrd的时候出错，不能使用mkinitrd.yaird工具创建。之前做过2.6.8－>2.6.15内核的升级是成功的。2.4升级到2.6内核需要做什么工作？

除 yaird 或 initramfs-tools 或 linux-initramfs-tool 外，另要升级 module-init-tools

你误解我的意思了。正确的说是debian＋2.4内核下怎么制作2.6.15内核的initrd？否则新的2.6.15的内核无法启动呀。求救！:ask

我现在无法提供错误信息，不过用yaird是无法制作的，man yaird就知道yaird只能在2.6内核下用。但是我又找不到mkinitrd的下载点

In this case, I think you should disable the use of initrd when compiling the new 2.6 kernel.

我已经搞定了。终于在网上找到了mkinitrd的源代码包。其实我的问题很简单的，就是之前一直使用的yaird不支持在2.4内核下使用而引发的。
另外，我还没注意，内核配置中那个选项是关于disable initrd的？清告知，谢谢。我也找找。
