完全按照楼主的步骤进行，可是CJK还是不能用。

\section{Some Interesting Words}

\end{document}
如用pdftex *.tex,出现下面的信息。
(./lshort-2.tex{/usr/share/texmf-local/pdftex/config/pdftex.cfg}
! Undefined control sequence.
如用latex *.tex ,出现下面的信息。
(/usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/base/size11.clo))
! Undefined control sequence.
l.5 \usapackage
{CJK}
有劳大家抽空帮我看一下。

第一行你是不是输入错误，应该是：
\documentclass[a4paper,11pt]{article}

另外，你的例子里面没有使用到中文字，怎么知道CJK不能运行呢？

第一行是粘帖是贴错了。
因为不能编译呀？难道这不是CJK的问题吗？谢谢

你安装CJK之后有没有用texhash更新文件列表？

我用mktexlst了，不是用这个更新的吗？

解决了。
是\usepackage{CJK}而不是\usapackage{CJK}
