error in mplayer

when i play dvdrip AVI files (with substitle such as a-Chs.srt, a.avi), mplayer
cannot automatically load the substitle file, but plays the AVI well

when i rename a-Chs.srt to a.srt, mplayer crashes and gives the error
information:

mplayer interrupted with signal 11 with module: decode_video
mplayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM

what's wrong? what to do?
