In fact in most cases stats are calculated incorrectly so I can't trust onestat.com
Two browsers that are most often misidentified are Opera and Safari, Opera is often considered to be MSIE while Safari contributes to share of Gecko based browsers.
I quote stats from http://www.ews.uiuc.edu/bstats/latest-week.html not because they calculate them correctly (for example they managed to include Safari in "Miscellaneous Netscape Compatible" browsers, while after killing MSIE for Mac Safari is no longer miscellaneous and clearly it is not Netscape compatible) but rather because they provide comprehensive userAgent list on which they calculations are based so one can recalculate stats or get more detailed information if necessary. When list of userAgents is not provided one can't check whether Opera's share was calculated correctly or miscalculated.

These tables summarize browsers used by 75081 hosts in 114 countries making 1091477 accesses during the week ending 14/Mar/2004 to the Engineering Workstations WWW server at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The lion's share of accesses to this server are for engineering student home pages. Information about browser types is extracted from the User-Agent HTTP Request header provided by nearly all browsers.

真要这么比，干嘛不把opera.com的统计数据搬出来？也许脚踩IE拳打mozilla呢？

According to Web consulting company OneStat.com, which monitors worldwide browser share, only about 0.6 percent of surfers currently use Opera, compared with more than 95 percent for various versions of Internet Explorer, about 2.5 percent for Netscape Navigator and about 1.6 percent for Mozilla, the open-source version of Netscape.

Those figures for Opera may be substantially undercounted , however, since many Opera users configure their browser to identify itself as Internet Explorer in order to avoid Web site configuration problems

1.Opera的占有率应该超过1％了，因为大多数情况下因为Opera身份定以为IE6
就算按照OneStat的数据，如果有一般的用户没有修改默认设置为身份认证为OPERA，那么实际数据就是1。6％

2.Opera的占有率绝对没有IE,Mozilla高
但是很可能名列第三或者第四，和它差不多的应该是KHTML

3.Opera不是GNU的，但是这并不影响在GNU/Linux使用它

4.为Opera说话，仅仅是让更多人认识到Opera不是一个微不足道的东西，更不喜欢用Mozilla的人对它横加鄙视.我从来不鄙视Mozilla

5.之所以在这个帖子后面回帖，是因为我认为Opera数据比较低，而我认为要高一些。我仅仅是摆出自己观点，原本是无意和别人争执，但是就是有人看不顺眼Opera的占有率在我口里提升了。

OneStat的统计实际上可能没有大的问题

因为OneStat没有考虑opera欺骗行为

如果有统计有多少用户将opera的身份修改为opera
实际数据应该会更加接近

我倾向认为超过一半的opera仍旧识别为IE6
若为2／3
实际数据可能是2.4％根据OneStat的数据计算
