It is not a joke.  The XFree86 core team disbanded itself, not the
project.  XFree86 remains very much alive, and I expect that the
active members of that old team will remain active.  I know I will :-)

XFree86核心团队解散了，但并不意味着团队成员就会退出X的开发，更何况还有Xouvert在呀。

部分国外开发者认为，core team 中的大部分人都是元老级人物，在最近的一些时间里，他们只是在吃老本，并没有贡献出任何有建设性的意见或者进行务实的编码工作。core team 的解散有利于新鲜血液的纳入。
