Why is that? I instaled Etch. I am new to Debian.

Sarge (Debian 3.1) is the previous stable release. Etch (Debian 4.0) is the new stable release.

debian的hotplug包和内核中的hotplug模块不是一回事, 2.6内核中pci_hotplug是一个关键模块, 而hotplug包是用以处理内核产生的hotplug事件。

etch默认用udev来管理hotplug事件, 如果强制安装hotplug也是可以的，那样将自动卸载udev
