SCIM 1.0.1 and Locale problem

Hi all,
    I am using Mandrake 10.1 official and found that the pre-installed scim 0.99 cause Firefox 1.0 to crash. After reading some posts in this forum, I uninstalled all the pre-installed scim packages , downloaded the latest scim src package and installed them. But it's very strange that I can switch to SCIM input method only under the zh_CN locale. Under other locales, nothing happened when I press the trigger key(Ctl+Space).
