请问gmplayer不能加载字体是什么原因?

我是root登录的（非root也一样）
/root/.mplayer下面已经配置了中文字体（试过其它字体也一样的错误）
这样gmplayer能启动但是播放的srt字幕都是乱码（改成unicode的话开源唐体显示的是韩国文字-_-，确定字幕是好的）
请问可能是哪方面的原因？我用的是slackware9.1，cvs的mplayer（0.93和1.0pre3也一样）我记得很早以前是正常的，很久没看电影了，期间有过重装系统。
