xcin: error DEFAULT_IM: value not specified ?

I read the documentation, and followed exactly the same steps, still don't know how to get thing to works..perhaps this is very simple, but I am totally stuck .. running on FreeBSD 4.8 ..

I get the following error when I try to start the xcin:

Any idea, I am just totally noob regarding this.

cd /usr/X11R6/etc/改改 xcinrc文件

you must specify your LC_CTYPE.

OK...thanks the problem solved..but somehow I issued the xcin2.5 command and it successfully load a tiny window(with 4 chinese words and keep display no matter how many times I clicked over it..and do a lot of freak thing), but why whenever I type/key any keystrokes at the rxvt, it just plain ascii not the chinese..how do actually set the focus on the chinese input and switching between ascii input and chinese input ?

By the way, I am intended to use the pingying method.

我想你誤會了﹐我所面對的問題是無法使出?h字  even 我已經起動xcin了。
當我起動  xcin﹐ 它子顯示一個小的  window﹐然後就呆在那兒﹐我應該如何  set focus 它 (有如在njstar裡按  ctrl-key), 或是  switching 量者之間的  key-in 方式--?h子和  ascii ﹖

您明白問題的所在嗎﹖
