When I just installed my Arch, I only have gcc4 in my system. But I need gcc3 sometimes. So I installed gcc3 from source code without any problem.

When you install gcc manually, you need to run tool "./.configure", which will check all the dependences for you.

为什么别人一提IDE就要把人往Windows上赶? 如果是写qt之类的程序，kdevelop是个足够强大的IDE。

Unfortunately,my network adapter(marvle yukon 88E8053) does not work

I have downloaded the driver( source), however, i can't install it, you know ,
before installing gcc.

Would you like to give me some advice about my network adapter driver?

There are two things you had better to check:
1). Verify if debian supports your NIC (yukon 88E8053). The most of the latest distros should support most of the NICs on the market.
If you can make your NIC work using debian's driver module, that is beautiful. Because we are not 100% sure that the source code driver works.

2). Othervise, you can try to install gcc from debian's installation CDs. I am not sure if gcc is on the first CD -- I do not use debian.

Try google, which is faster than questioning here. You can resolve 95% of your questions by google.
