求助X桌面设置

实我是一个debian新手，昨晚到现在经过了一个通宵的努力终于在本本上装好了debian系统，我的本是比较老的T23，S3的显卡，好不容易从网上找了一些资料进入了Gnome界面，但我的显示屏是1400×1050的高分屏，现在只能用到1024×768,不知道有没有过成功的伙伴，给点经验介绍一下。不胜感谢，

默认的vesa驱动，会不会不支持高分辨率？

可是s3的驱动更没有用，我在网上找不到s3的驱动。

直接用xorg吧

debian不是用XF86吗，能够用xorg吗，稍微指点一下

stable branch 仍是 XFree86

testing 及 unstable 已改成 Xorg 了

我升级到了testing，呵呵，现在进不了了，说没有xserver，我也不知道xorg怎么回事，明天弄吧，linux真的不会一帆风顺啊。

我用Driver "savage"驱动上了，3d也打开了，s3没驱动起来，楼主不妨试一下

另外楼主设一下显存吧，我的不设显存没法用的说（不是用不了，是没法用）

谢谢，我改了用xorg之后，用vesa也驱动了，不过还不是很明白，又有了一点问题。还要继续努力啊。
