fcitx does NOT work（问题解决...）

i read and try a lot ,according to some article.
but still can not input chinese!
NB: when i install linux(mdr206), i did not choose the language chinese. i use english as the default language, is that the problem?

there are some many article says that we could use export LC_CTYPE="zh_CN"!
I do not know why.

can fcitx be used in firefox, MY fcitx just can be used in Kwriter! openoffice and firefox, lumaqq....all of them could not! can some one help?
