fcitx无法输入中文

所谓的缺省语言，在控制台下都是一样的，只是在Xwindow下有区别。你可以把光盘里中文的字体装上(也可以自己装simsun)，再把KDE-i18n的那个中文的包装上，然后把/etc/sysconfig/i18n里的locale设置改改就行了。改成zh_CN.GB18030或zh_CN.GBK都可以。装字体的方法，有很多帖子的，推荐北南大哥在redhat版置顶的那篇。

Actuallly, I 've already installed simsun, and My desktop is sort of Chinese, although not fully.(I am sorry, I haven't find out a way to get a snapshot , otherwise you could see it).

YuKing already said in previous post that G WuBi will not work if the default system language is set English

I hav already tried to modify /etc/sysconfig/i18n file
as you said, but it just didn't work.

Another thing I found, is in GUI Login allow me to
Select Chinese or Other language, but this won't
change the default Language System Supports,it
also not help much. But I did find Song Ti, Fong Song Ti, So I tend to think install all the fonts
in CD many not help.

I saw another thread  said in KDE there is a way to
do it. That means I have to install KDE, for I am using gnome.

Any way I will try XSIM, it claims to be working in
a System defaulted English

您可以先试试这样。
1、启动X，打开一个控制台，如xterm
2、执行命令
        export LC_ALL=zh_CN
        export LANG=zh_CN
        fcitx -name XXXX&
        xterm
3、然后在新的xterm中按ctrl+space试试fcitx能不能用(应该是能的)

我一直是在kde下面做这个的，我好像也是在装系统的时候
没有注意选中文，后来自己装的kde的中文包，现在显示中文
没有问题，菜单什么也都是中文，就是没法输入中文。我
还没有在ghome下面试过。
我也试过miniChinput，启动的时候搞得什么都没有反应，
倒也不core dump。不知道什么原因。

我觉得一般不能用输入法，很大程度上是因为用的图形界面的login，而我在做的时候是用startx的，相信Yuking大哥也是这样。看来要对这个问题想想。我的机子上gdm,kdm,xdm什么的都没设置，还是得用起来才行。
