求助，关于XFree86 4.3.99.11最新版本的，编译已经成功安装，但是启动不起来。

错误信息如下：
Cannot locate a core pointer device
Unable to determine the screen layout
ERROR from xf86HandleConfigFile(),

Fatal Server error
no screen found
我不管用的是旧的配置文件，还是用
XFree86 -configure
错误都一样，应该来说XFree86 -configure 是进行X的检测，一般情况下应该可以生成正确的最低配置的X配置文件。至少也可以显示个8色的呀。我以前用XFree86 4.3.0的就可以呀。这个不行，还有用了XFree86 4.3.99.7好像也是可以就是使用旧的配置文件。也可以正常运行X。
但是我在用这个命令进行检测的时候就出现了这个错误。搞不懂是什么原因，有没有哪位大虾知道的帮忙分析分析一下吧。
现在X都不能用呀。

典型的XF86Config的配置有问题。
是不是，用XFree86 --config 后，起作用的
仍是原来的。

root用户启动X时：
先于/etc/X11/XF86Config-4起作用的是：
/root/XF86Config

/etc/X11/XF86Config-4 -->/etc/X11/XF86Config -->  /etc/XF86Config --> /usr/X11R6/etc/X11/XF86Config-4
--> /usr/X11R6/etc/X11/XF86Config
-->/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config-4
-->           /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config

看/var/log/XFree86.0.log应该看得出来吧，里面会有

呵呵，我的是在/etc/X11目录里面根本没有配置文件的说，就算有配置文件的时候也是不行的。
当/etc/X11里面没有配置文件的时候一切重新开始而进行
XFree86 -configure 进行检测的时候也是不行的，一般的情况下，至少检测之后生成/root/XF86Config-4.new这个文件，然后就会进行什么应用程序都不运行的屏幕X。但是这次没有。
而将以前的配置文件，放入/etc/X11里面的时候让它读取配置文件也是不行。都是同样的错误信息。
    penny，我就是看见你KDE 用了CVS的版本，也用了一把。现在是也想把X升到最新的版本。呵呵，想不到不行。
   tram版主大人，我是拿了以前还没有安装X时的备份来做的。如果X之前缺少哪个文件，应该也会在编译的时候就通不过吧。所以郁闷中。。。。
