kubuntu can do it,debian canNOT?!

I got a new dell 6400 notebook,and burned two disc:debian-netins.i386.etch and kubuntu-destop.i386.

Using kubutun, it run well.

But debian-installer canNOT visit my cdrom?!
My cdrom is sata inferface..

Accoranding to some document,I using install24 kernel to boot,debian can visit my cdrom,but canNOT visit the ethernet card !@#$%%^&*

奇怪的是硬盘和光驱都是sata的，为什么在debian里硬盘认出来了，光驱没有呢……

desktop光驱肯定有SATA接口的，我见过
至于laptop光驱是否有我就不知道了。至少我没有见过
